Yves Choueifaty, TOBAM’s CEO and founder was elected last night at the “Grands Prix de la Gestion d’actifs” as the “AM Leader” of the year, the most prominent personality in the French asset management industry in 2016.
The prestigious ceremony organized by l’AGEFI in Paris on December 1, 2016 gathered more than 200 persons from the asset management industry: institutional investors and asset managers’ CEOs.
The objective of the AM leader award is to highlight a French personality who can claim great success and who has the potential to further mark the asset management industry over the years to come.
To determine the AM Leader of the Year, the journalists of l’AGEFI made a preselection of 6 nominees. These six names were put to the vote of the 400 leading managers of management companies operating in France as well as the top 100 institutional investors. The editorial staff of l’AGEFI also participated in the ballot.
By awarding Yves Choueifaty the AM Leader prize, the industry rewards a singular entrepreneurial journey in the asset management landscape. It was in 2005 that the former general manager of Crédit Lyonnais AM created TOBAM, setting up a quantitative approach called Anti-Benchmark aiming at maximizing the diversification of portfolios.
The company now claims $9 billion in assets under management and employs 45 persons in 7 offices. It has just established two agreements across the Atlantic. A boom that led Amundi mid-November to increase its share in TOBAM’s capital to 20%.
