Financial News crop of the brightest up-and-coming talent in the investment industry features Tatjana Puhan, TOBAM’s Deputy CIO.
“In just six years, Puhan has metamorphosed from esteemed academic into senior-ranking investor at one of Europe’s most innovative fund houses. Despite a long-time passion for learning and exploring financial market theories, in 2014 she quit academia for a career in which she could both apply them and spread her entrepreneurial wings. Joining Swiss Life, she worked on the design and launch of new strategies, which helped almost double its client assets, before moving to TOBAM earlier this year in a role created just for her. she leads a team of 15 people and is responsible for managing the company’s 7$bn across multiple asset classes – including bitcoin. Since moving into the practical side of asset management, she has helped investors design portfolios that implement complex strategies, and wants to see how her teams’ work adds value. She has left one foot in academia, however, and now writes papers she thinks can be impactful – including on how companies can better manage people – and holds research and lecturer positions at two institutions in her native Germany.”
